DMS has an opportunity for an experienced Dental Assistant for a position in Kalamazoo. This is considered temporary with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate. This is a full time position with 12 hour shifts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Receives and prepares patient, sterilizes and disinfects instruments, sets up instrument trays, prepares materials, and assists dentist during dental procedures
  • Takes and records medical and dental histories and vital signs of patient
  • Exposes dental diagnostic x-rays
  • Makes preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations for mounting
  • Assist dentist in management of medical and dental emergencies
  • Instruct patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs
  • Assists dentist in performing procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Candidates must have a high school diploma and successful completion of a Dental Assistant program. X-Ray certification. Registration (RDA) is preferred, but not required. Candidates should have 6 months of recent work experience as a dental assistant. Candidates must also be willing to work 12 hour shifts.
