DMS and Flat River Medical are thrilled to announce a partnership for 2017 and BEYOND!
Beginning in March, Flat River Medical and DMS are teaming up to provide CNA training in a second location...Grand Rapids! The newly finished DMS Training Center (located in Suite 105 inside of the familiar Weyhill building) is equipped with hospital-grade educational resources for relevant, hands-on instruction.
The partnership between DMS and Flat River Medical will provide more opportunities to our future healthcare professionals, spanning from the Montcalm County area, to Kent County, and beyond! Not only can you get your CNA training through Flat River Medical, but students can become employed as a CNA to work for DMS!
**Remember that DMS employees become eligible for the Career Progression CNA Scholarship after only six months of active employment**
**Beginning in March, classes will be held in both Grand Rapids and Greenville, MI**
Flat River Medical is a nurse assistant training program (NATP) modeled by the State of Michigan guidelines. This 75 hour program features an in-depth lecture, hands-on laboratory practice, and a final practicum which will take place in the nursing home setting. Conveniently located downtown Greenville (and now Grand Rapids!), MI, this program will be offered monthly with varying class hours to accommodate your life.

Diversified Medical Staffing is excited to announce the career progression scholarship to qualified team members who wish to further their careers in healthcare by obtaining CNA certification.
How does one qualify? Fantastic question! To be eligible for this opportunity, team members must:
1. Have a minimum of 6 months working with DMS
2. “Apply” by writing a letter of request to the department manager
In addition to paying half of the initial cost (up to $600), DMS will pay the certification test fee, and will even reimburse for the remaining expenses (up to an additional $600) if the team member agrees to work more than 600 hours with DMS—incredible!

DMS is thrilled to recognize Jessica McAllister on becoming the first ever graduate of Diversified Medical Staffing’s CNA Career Progression Scholarship Program. Jessica began her career at DMS as a caregiver on June 14th, 2013. On November 11th, 2016, she earned her Certified Nursing Assistant certification from Flat River Medical—which included over 75 hours of lectures, hands-on laboratory practice and a final practicum. Not only did Jessica pass her certification on the first try, she was working in a healthcare facility less than 48 hours later!

I recently attended a conference at a local community college that featured a certificate in Gerontology. With the growth DMS has seen in the home health market and working with the aging population, I thought it would be beneficial for me to understand the program better.
It has been a long time since I have posted any updates!
We are officially in our new office - Suite 310 of the same building.
We recently increased our Referral Bonus as we are in need of more in-patient specialty RNs. If you refer a specialty nurse who works 100 hours for DMS, we will pay you $250.00 for the referral.

Today we welcomed our newest internal employee, Nick Dressander, Recruiting Specialist. We are excited to have Nick on board and look forward to getting him get up to speed.
As a benefit to our outside staff, we pay a Holiday bonus to employees who have worked in excess of 1000 hours in the prior 6 months.
Just yesterday, one of our home care clients came to our office and recognized us for outstanding service and for going above and beyond for the well being of the patient.
We have recently made an improvement to our website which more completely lists ALL of our open jobs.
In an industry publication, I recently read an article reagrding a survey of staffing buyers.
If you have visited our job openings page lately, you will have noticed that we have a Recruiting Specialist position open.
I sure hope so. An industry magazine recently had an article about the best staffing companies to work for. Being a staffing company, we have two sets of employees; internal or corporate employees and our hourly or field staff employees.
We are requesting more referrals from our valued employees. To help that along, we have updated our Referral Bonus policy. Here is how it works:
In case you don't follow the economic indicators on a national scope I thought I would provide an update. The general indicators and GDP projections are more favorable than they were two months ago.
We have changed some internal operations here at DMS in the past month. As we have grown in the past several months, our recruiting needs have increased to the point where we have had a difficult time keeping up. In response to that, we have changed our internal structure.
I am pleased to announce that we have added a 401k for our employees this year. Those qualified (1 year of service and 1000 hours worked last year) will be invited to participate in 2011.
January 2011 has picked up right where 2010 left off - which is many needs for Nurses, Medical Assistants, Phlebotomists (to name a few disciplines).
We added to our internal staff again this week, adding Jeanna Rauschert as our Human Resources Manager.

It is Thanksgiving on Thursday so I thought it appropriate to mention what I am thankful for here at DMS. We have had a tremendous year of growth.
We at DMS are days away from implementing a new recruiting and on-boarding system that will eliminate much of our application paperwork.
We have been brainstorming inside the company of late trying to find out better ways to communicate with CENAs who work for us.
2011 is looking to be a year of big change for our industry of healthcare. I believe that now, more than ever, we are in a very dynamic and fast changing industry with great growth potential.

It is nearing Labor Day and soon, if not already, back to school. Enjoy the last official weekend of summer and travel safely if you are headed out of town.
Unemployment is not a pretty word. I do have some good news in this regard however. As part of the changes to the last unemployment extension, "EUC Fix" has been added.
